[Resources] NaNoWriMo Wallpaper Calendars to Keep You on Track

NaNoWriMo 2011 Calendar by Avian Function

National Novel Writing Month lures a myriad of creative individuals out of their secret layers to write a novel in a month.  Some talented, multi-skilled artsy folks bring with them custom-made computer desktop wallpaper calendars to share with their stick-figure-scratching fellows.  These calendars keep you informed about what your total word count should by the end of each day of the month to successfully finish.  Many also provide motivation to keep you going and humorous tips to make you smile on your way to the goal line.  You can find several in the 2011 Calendars and Wallpapers topic in the NaNo Artisans section of the official forums.  Here are a few of my favorites from the forum and around the Web:

  • Dan at surlymuse.com offers his 2011 calendar in ten different colors schemes to fit your mood or perhaps coordinate with your outfit.
  • DeviantArtist Kriska sets the tone of the season with a fall-themed calendar, full of charm and motivation.
  • Participating in the SoIL Advanced 75k Challenge? Ali Rowan at the Avian Function design firm has an ultra-stylish calendar with daily writing goals for the stock 50k all the way up to 150k, for the literary insane.
  • DeviantArtist JuliaWoodrow brings to the event three calendar designs, bound to make for smiles and motivation on the way to the finish line.

Thanks for the link! Some wonderfully stylish wallpapers here, way nicer than my own.

There are some more over at Nicole Humphrey’s site: http://nicolehumphrey.net/nanowrimo-2011-desktop-calendars/

Thanks so much for including my design! It’s wonderful to be included among so many great options for the NaNo community.

About Us

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) occurs between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30. Writers are challenged to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. Tens of thousands of writers across the globe participate every year. Some have even gone on to publish their novels afterwards!

The Southern Illinois NaNoWriMo Region comprises all of Southern Illinois from the St. Louis Metro area on to the southernmost reaches of the state. Every year, writers from all over Southern Illinois meet up at "write-ins" either physically or virtually to work towards the same goal: writing a novel in the month of November.
